The nations were perplexed. The sea was roaring. Nobody had words.
📖Based on Luke 21:25
He didn't describe it as a mystery.
He described it as something to watch for.
There shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars.
All three. Simultaneously. The whole sky becoming a message board.
And upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity.
Perplexity — that specific word. Not just confusion. The kind of confusion that comes when you have run out of frameworks. When your maps no longer match the terrain.
The sea and the waves roaring.
The ocean had always been a source of power. Of commerce. Of rhythm.
Now it roared. Unpredictably. Violently. Without explanation.
And men's hearts failing them for fear.
Not dying from illness. Failing from what they were seeing and expecting to come.
For looking after those things which are coming on the earth.
The anticipation of what was still ahead was itself lethal.
The powers of heaven shall be shaken.
The words were precise. Not the powers of earthly kingdoms. The powers of heaven. The things that had always been stable above every human chaos.
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
After all the terror. After all the shaking.
Him.
And he said: When these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads.
Not down. Not inside.
Up.
Because your redemption draweth nigh.
The same signs that terrified the nations were meant to encourage the ones who knew what they signaled.
The signs in the sky are not God abandoning the world.
They are God arriving for it.

The signs of the end are meant to cause two different responses — fear in those who don't know Him, and hope in those who do.
›
When the sky changes and the nations fail, the instruction to believers is to look up.
