Immediately after the tribulation. The sky changed.
📖Based on Matthew 24:29
They had been waiting for a sign.
Through everything — the wars, the famine, the plagues, the persecution — they had been told to hold on.
It's not over yet. But it will be. Hold on.
And then, immediately after the tribulation of those days —
The sun went dark.
Not by degrees. Not at sunrise or sunset when darkness has a natural excuse.
In the middle of the day. The sun simply stopped shining.
The moon refused to give her light.
The stars fell from heaven.
Not comets. Not meteors. The stars themselves. Falling the way you'd expect figs to fall from a tree when the wind shakes it hard.
The powers of the heavens were shaken.
Everything fixed and dependable and constant about the sky ceased to be fixed.
And then the sign of the Son of Man appeared in heaven.
The mourning that came across the tribes of the earth was not grief. It was dread.
The recognition of something they had denied until it was undeniable.
And they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Not hidden. Not quiet.
Power and great glory.
He sent his angels with a great sound of a trumpet.
From one end of heaven to the other.
To gather his elect.
The ones who had held on through all of it.
The ones who had waited while the sun still shone and the signs had not yet come.
They were gathered.
And the sky that had just been the site of the world's worst darkness became the place of its greatest rescue.
Scripture — Matthew 24:29
"Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken."
Reflection
›
The signs in the sky are not just warnings. They are the announcement of arrival.
›
The darkening of the sun is not the end of the story. It is the introduction to what comes next.
