Nothing like it had come before. Nothing like it would come again.
📖Based on Joel 2:2
Blow the trumpet in Zion.
Sound an alarm in the holy mountain.
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble.
Because the day of the LORD is coming. Is very near.
A day of darkness and of gloominess.
A day of clouds and of thick darkness.
Like the morning spread upon the mountains — a great people and a strong.
Joel saw it coming like dawn over a ridge.
But this was not sunrise.
This was shadow.
There hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it.
A fire devoured before them. Behind them, a flame burned.
The land was as the garden of Eden before them. After them, a desolate wilderness.
They moved like horses. Like horsemen they ran.
Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains. Like a strong people set in battle array.
Before their face the people were much pained. All faces were drained of color.
They ran like mighty men. They climbed walls like men of war.
They marched straight forward. They broke not their ranks.
They ran upon the wall. They climbed up houses. They entered windows like a thief.
The earth shook before them. The heavens trembled.
Sun and moon grew dark. The stars withdrew their shining.
The LORD uttered his voice before his army.
His army.
His.
Not a random force of destruction. A commanded, organized, purposeful judgment.
For his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word.
And the day of the LORD is great and very terrible.
Who can abide it?
Scripture — Joel 2:2
"A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations."
Reflection

Joel's army moves with perfect order and devastating power. It is not chaos — it is commanded judgment.

When God unleashes His army, the question is not how to stop it. The question is where you stand in relation to it.
