Ten crowns. Seven heads. The whole world marveled.
📖Based on Revelation 13:1
It came out of political chaos.
That's the thing about the beast. It didn't rise during peace. It rose when everything else was falling apart.
When the institutions failed. When the old alliances crumbled. When people were desperate enough to accept anything that looked like order.
Seven heads. Ten horns. Ten crowns on the horns.
Each crown representing authority. Legitimate authority. Given, endorsed, recognized.
The beast didn't take power. It was handed power.
One of the heads had a wound. A wound that should have been fatal. Something that had collapsed, ended, been buried. But it came back.
And his deadly wound was healed. And all the world wondered after the beast.
Wondered. That's the exact word.
Not feared. Wondered.
Like watching something miraculous. Like witnessing a resurrection.
Who is like unto the beast? Who is able to make war with him? That's what they asked. Out loud. In the streets.
It was worship dressed as a political question.
The dragon had given it power. The dragon had given it its throne. Its great authority.
And the beast used that authority with precision. It spoke great things. Blasphemies against God. Against the heavens. Against everyone who dwells there.
It was given power over every tribe, tongue, and nation.
Every one.
And those whose names were not written in the Lamb's book of life looked at this thing — this terrible, magnificent, wounded-but-healed thing — and they bowed.
It felt like relief.
It was a trap.
Scripture — Revelation 13:1
"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy."
Reflection
›
The beast does not rise through force alone. It rises because people want it to.
›
When the world is broken enough, people will worship whatever appears to fix it.
